Enzo Coppola will be conducting a 12-week coaching clinic for boys and girls from the age of 6 upwards. From beginners to advanced level, kids will get quality training on the basics of football and have the opportunity to hone their skills if they are already actively playing competitive football.
The classes will be of 1 hour duration on Saturday mornings and will take place at Crusaders in Durban North.
The times for the sessions will be notified once the number and ages of the kids are taken into consideration.
The price for a 12-week course is R960 (it works out to R80 per session), and is payable in advance.
There will be registration on Saturday 25 June 2011 from 09h00 at Crusaders Sports Club in Durban North. The course will not commence on registration day.
Enzo Coppola will personally conduct the coaching sessions, and the kids will not be in a group of more than 16 at any given time, in order to offer quality and personalised coaching.
From time to time other experts such as for goalkeeping will be brought in.
The advantage of this course is that the child’s development can be closely monitored over the 12-week period and regular reports and updates will be given to the parents.

REZA ADAMS GETS INVITATION TO PLAY IN SOCCEREX 2009

Juventus Football Club’s striker – Reza Adams, was invited by one of his customers (Reza is a consultant at ABSA Bank), to take part in the 2009 Soccerex Experience, which was held on the 29 November 2009 at the Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton.

Soccerex are leading event providers for the global football industry, and are renowned for delivering unique networking platforms around the world.

The Soccerex events calendar includes exclusive Soccerex forums and culminates in a 4-day Soccerex convention encompassing the whole ”Soccerex Experience” (Conference, exhibition, gala dinner and football festival).

This event in the football calendar event is the premiere business to business football industry expo bringing together the who’s who of world football annually, to look at latest business imperatives, trends and activities in the world of football business.

There were 4 countries that took part, namely: England, Brazil, South Africa and the Netherlands.

Reza Adams played for England, alongside such legends as Steve McMahon, Bryan Robson, Ian walker, John Barnes, Ray Parlour and Andy Cole. The manager was liverpool great Phil Thompson.

Brazil had the following players: Serginho, Aldair, Paulo Sergio, Gilmar Rinaldi and manager Carlos Alberto Torres.

South Africa, who were thumped 4-0 by England, had Mark Fish, Shaun Bartlett, Phil Masinga, Andre’ Arendse, Mark Williams, Doc Khumalo, Shoes Moshoeu and player manager Lucas radebe.

The Netherlands were represented by Ronald De Boer, Pierre Van Hooidonk, Aron Winter, Arthur Numan, Guido Albers, Edo Boonstoppel and manager Ruud Gullit.

The Netherlands defeated England in the final 3-0, after Steve McMahon had been sent off early on, leaving the England team chasing shadows.

This was an experience of a lifetime for Reza Adams, and he will never forget rubbing shoulders with such great players.

DCFA disciplinary committee convener, Feisal Abrahams, visited Old Trafford last year, and on the guided tour was fortunate enough to sit on Sir Alex Ferguson’s chair.

Feisal would not say how many expired pieces of gum (or smashed watches) he found under the seat, suffice to say that it was a fantastic experience visiting the “Theatre of dreams”. During his tour Feisal met some of the first team players and also observed them hard at work during a training session.

On enquiring as to where Ronaldo was, he was pointed towards the dressing room, where the Portuguese Diva was busy with a manicure and was teasing his hair.

The writer is a Liverpool supporter, so obviously it would be very difficult to pay homage to anything Manchester United, however, in all seriousness, it’s fantastic that Feisal went to Manchester United’s home ground and it must have been a great experience for him.

Thank you to Feisal for all the hard work and thankless extra hours he puts in for all the disciplinary matters that arise regularly.

Added to that is Ian King, who of late has also been giving his valuable time for the sake of football, and all followers of the game should be most grateful to these two gentlemen who fulfill a most vital function within our organisation.
